I haven't run, or worked out, since
RNR Arizona last Sunday. I'm going to call it a recovery week, and get back on the horse today. I thought I was coming down with something, and we had family over for the weekend...
Enough about my not running. The most exciting things happened over the weekend.
A and the boyfriend broke up Thursday night.
Then, she turned16 on Friday! Since, it was a school holiday, she was able to take her driving test and...

I won't bore you with the video I took of her driving away from our house for the very first time by herself. I'm so excited for her, and sad at the same time. This may be harder on a mom than the first day of kindergarten. I'm already missing our
drive together time. When you have a teenager in the car to and from school, it is quality time. Now she'll be driving herself to school and practice and I'll NEVER see her again. It's all S' fault, he made sure she got her own car for her birthday.
Friday (birthday night) was a big basketball game. A played really well, 13 points and West won by 3! Her aunt, uncle, godparents and cousins were there to watch. After the game, we had to wait a minute to congratulate her...

My sister and I played basketball together in high school. I was so glad she was there to cheer with me. We agreed that we miss it terribly. A, enjoy every minute of hoops in high school! The years will fly by before you know it.
Saturday we celebrated with ice cream cake. Yeah, it was really frozen.

Not a bad way to spend a 16th birthday weekend, if you ask me. Happy Birthday, A! We love you so much.

Happy 16th! What a big milestone for both of you. My oldest is turning 13 this summer and I am already dreading it. Did her boyfriend break up with her right before her big day?
Man sweet 16... I broke up with my bf right before my 16th as well.... granted it wasn't the night before my birthday, but minor details.
I love how you also played bb in highschool--- i bet it makes watching A play that much more nostalgic.
